Snow Day

Today we are home from school because of a Texas snow day which translates to a little bit of snow (just enough for a miniature snowman) and some good family time. We had some great gift cards to Gatti Town ( a pizza and game place here in Texas) and Tuesday happens to be half price game day so we had 3 hours of fun. Skee Ball, Basketball, video games and we were almost the only people in there! I haven't laughed and smiled that much in a long time - great idea dad! We have battled and defeated the flu this past week so not a whole lot of anything else has happened here in our casa but rest, fluids and meals. Great friends have been a super help in keeping us well stocked with soup, veggies and tissue!! What a blessing they have been.

Our son is getting ready to crossover from cub scouts to boy scouts in a month - super proud of him for sticking with scouting from tiger scouts clear through Webelos II and am looking forward to his growth as a young man and a leader as he ventures into Boy Scouts and on towards the end goal of Eagle Scout.

Off to enjoy some more family time with popcorn and a movie on Netflix with the family. I am so glad that God blesses us with these days to slow down and enjoy family.

We are off and running

Okay - kids REALLY need to go back to school and I am ready for routine again. Sleeping late is great and being in our PJ's rocks - but now I am beginning to wonder if they will want to wear them to school and will I ever find the tennis shoes that match to send them out the door in. Laundry today - I don't know why I can't wrap my educated head around that 2 loads a day keep the crazy laundry monster away!!

Thinking about a couple of other projects - 3 boxes a day. I am going to take before, during and after pictures so I can see the "greatness" when it's done. I hope that I can tackle 3 a day. I have this burning urge to get my hair cut and then color it (at home of course.) Maybe that will perk up the daily grind.

Hope you have a blessed day and find the good in people. It is there - just believe!
